San Geronimo Hills - Thaddeus Welch Repro, 2021

$725.00

H: 4 in x W: 3.5 in
Cotton embroidery floss on canvas, mounted on bamboo hoop and backed with felt.

This rural scene was inspired by an old oil painting by artist Thaddeus Welch. The oak trees scattered on the golden hills reminded me of the farmlands north of Santa Barbara.

This piece took 43 hours to complete, uses 57 colors with the number of strands varying in the different details, and the back is signed and dated.
